Highlights include the egg-laying platypus, the recently extinct Tasmanian wolf, fleshed-out models of spectacular extinct forms (don't miss Ambulocetus, a "walking whale"), and live sugar gliders (small marsupials that can glide over 150 feet). Media displays, animated computer interactives, hands-on activities, touchable fossils, casts, and taxidermied specimens round out the experience. Admission is by ticketed timed entry only. Frogs: A Chorus of Colors

Families can explore the evolution and biology of frogs, their importance to ecosystems, and the threats they face in the world's changing environments. More than 200 live frogs, from tiny dart poison frogs (some less than an inch long) to the enormous African bullfrog (as big as eight inches in diameter), are displayed in their recreated habitats, complete with rock ledges, live plants, and waterfalls. Approximately 25 species from countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Borneo, Brazil, China, Colombia, Kenya, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Russia, Sumatra, Suriname, the United States, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Vietnam are represented. Interactive stations throughout the exhibition invite visitors to activate recorded frog calls, view videos of frogs in action, and test their knowledge about frogs. Climate Change: The Threat to Life

The museum's exhibit examines one of the most pressing scientific issues of our time: the massive, human-induced warming of Earth, a phenomenon that could lead to drought, rising sea levels, heavy storms, and other events with potentially dire impacts on the health of society and the natural world. The exhibition explores the science, history, and impact of climate change, and illuminates ways in which individuals, communities, and nations can reduce their carbon footprints, using realistic dioramas, hands-on activity stations, and dynamic animations.
