Tempo of Twilight: Satchel Grande


Families can listen to the band Satchel Grande at Lauritzen Gardens' annual outdoor concert series. Weather permitting, concerts are held outdoors. Because of rain or extreme heat, concerts may be moved to the indoor floral display hall. Guests are allowed to bring chairs or blankets, food, and beverages. The gift shop is open and the café serves an abbreviated menu.

65 Years of Golden Book Illustrations


Sixty masterpieces of original illustration art - chosen from the vast Random House archive - are featured in the exhibition, including examples from such picture-book classics as The Poky Little Puppy, Tootle, Home for a Bunny, The Kitten Who Thought He Was a Mouse, The Color Kittens, and I Can Fly.

Imagination Playground


Imagination takes flight in this space designed especially for children ages five and under. The exhibit features a collection of interactive areas, including Rainbow Farm, featuring a two-story farmhouse, life-size animals, and plants to harvest; OCM Engine House No. 1 with a firehouse, climbing structure, water-play area, and fire engine; and the Little Market, a grocery store where kids can shop, cashier, and learn about healthy eating choices.

Charlie Campbell Science and Technology Center


The Charlie Campbell Science and Technology Center offers hands-on scientific fun, including the Super Gravitron with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical sections; the Inventor's Workshop with gadgets inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's sketchbooks that kids can maneuver to create their own structures and a whirligig station; and Recollections, where kids can see their images projected onto a large screen and surrounded by high-definition patterns of color.
