Power Plants Exhibit


The exhibit explores a variety of plants that offer alternative energy possibilities, showcasing living plants and providing educational information about how they can serve as sustainable agriculture-based renewable energy sources. Kids can try the Power Plants Exploration Game, which leads them through the exhibit and illustrates the different ways plants play a role in creating new sources of fuel. Pick up the game brochure in the Visitors Center, walk across the street to the garden, and return the card to the front desk when complete. A small prize is awarded to those who answer the questions; children 10 and under might need adult assistance.

See the nation's original records in their full-scale glory, including the 13-foot scroll of the Articles of Confederation (never before displayed unrolled), a 13-by-13-foot map of the Gettysburg Battlefield, a gigantic footprint of a dinosaur, the size 22 sneakers of basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, and the first printing of the Declaration of Independence, produced on the night of July 4-5, 1776.

Designing the Lincoln Memorial
