An independent Pre-K-fifth grade elementary school founded in 1938. Manzano Day School is committed to integrating traditional academic disciplines with the arts, technology, and environmental awareness. The F.A.S.T Reading Program and Mel Levine's Schools attuned program is implemented by experienced teachers in small class settings.

Manzano has been nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest.

Summer Programs include Children's Workshop (age 31/2-5), Learning Wheel (age 6-7), and Voyagers (age 8-9). These programs are geared to meet the needs of each age group.

Extended day childcare is available during the academic year and for summer programs.

Located downtown, Working Classroom is a multi-ethnic organization of professional and novice adult and student artists, actors and writers. Programs that nurture the creative, academic and leadership potential of talented young artists and actors from historically ignored communities are offered. Programs include visual arts, theater, and public art.

Gold Cup Gymnastics provides instruction in gymnastics and related activities. Class sizes are small (eight students per instructor) to allow for personalized training at all skill levels.

SAGA provides instruction in gymnastics and fitness for preschoolers through adults. Birthday party packages, summer camps, and special events are also offered. Visit the website for current class schedules and fees.

Anglers will love casting their lines at Tingley Beach, which offers free access to its facilities in the Albuquerque BioPark 365 days a year.

Families can enjoy three fishing lakes, walking trails, a model boating pond, exceptional birding opportunities, and a train station with a gift shop and cafe. During summer months, visitors can rent pedal boats, bicycles, and model boats.

The Westside Community Center is part of the Westside Community Complex which includes two basketball courts, a playground, a picnic area, a soccer field, a baseball field, and a walking trail.

The Before School Program is available Monday-Friday 7am-beginning of school. The fee is $57 per nine weeks. A pay as you go program is also available. Transportation to Armijo Elementary, Kit Carson Elementary, Atrisco Elementary, and Ernie Pyle Middle School is available.

The Afterschool Program is offered Monday- Friday after school-6pm. The fee is $87 per nine weeks. Transportation from the above mentioned schools is available.

Parky's Pals (ages 3-5) is available Monday-Thursday 10am-12:30pm. The fee is $32 for four weeks. The program includes arts and crafts, physical activities, music, dancing and a variety of field trips.
