Formerly the main airfield in Anchorage, Delaney Park Strip features colorful floral displays, a Centennial Rose Garden, an antique train engine where kids can climb, and memorials to Martin Luther King, Jr. and World War II veterans. The park also offers tennis courts, volleyball courts, and an outdoor ice rink.

Goose Lake Park is one of Anchorage's two municipal beaches that offer supervised swim areas. The park also features basketball courts, a softball field, picnic shelters and tables, bike trail access, a non-motorized small craft area, and a playground. An ice skating area is available during winter months. Concessions, paddleboat rentals, and bike rentals are available at the Paddleboat Cafe.

Many species of wildlife roam free within 1,400-acre Kincaid Park, a setting offering rolling forested hills, stunning views of Mt. Susitna, Fire Island, Mt. Denali, and Mt. Foraker. Access to the Coastal Trail is within yards of Kincaid Outdoor Center.

Mulcahy Stadium is a 5,300 seat baseball park located near the Sullivan Arena. The stadium is home to Anchorage's two local baseball teams, the Anchorage Bucs and the Glacier Pilots. The various baseball fields also host local adult and little league practices and games. Game tickets can be purchased at the gate.

The 300-acre park features eight tennis courts, two picnic areas, hiking and cross-country skiing trails, and two softball fields. Trails are cleared in the summer and can be used for rollerblading and biking. The park also hosts Selkregg Chalet and a golf course.

Located at West High School, the West Pool is home to the Twisted Talon Water Slide. The pool offers parent and me swim lessons, lifeguard certification classes, and open and lap swim hours.
