ABC for Kids is a unique athletic facility focused on developing agility, balance, and coordination in young children. Classes and programs are offered in a specially designed room, sized to challenge and entertain kids.

In addition to summer and school vacation camps, ABC for Kids offers drop-off/drop-in options. The facility is located in the Boulder Rock Club, providing additional climbing options for kids who are ready for the challenge.

Arapahoe Basin is one of the smaller ski areas in the Front Range, but it is typically the one of the first to open and the last one to close each year making it great for spring skiing. A-Basin has over 900 acres of skiable terrain, 105 trails, six lifts, and one conveyor lift, 40% of the terrain is considered beginner/intermediate. A-Basin offers beginning ski classes and equipment rentals. Programs for kids include Kid's Club Arapahoe, a program where children learn to ski or snowboard. Avid4 Adventure camp programs offer fun, diverse, age appropriate, and safety focused outdoor pursuits for kids. Each week kids can rock climb, mountain bike, hike, kayak, and canoe. Travel, sleep-away, and day camp itineraries are available. Programs are offered throughout the Denver metro area.

Beaver Creek is Vail's sister resort. The area tends to be more family friendly and charming, especially around the outdoor ice rink and in the center of the lovely village.

Approximately a third of the resort's runs are rated Beginner level. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Beaver Creek offers Snowshoe, Sleigh Rides, Dogsledding, and Ice Skating.

The Vilar Center for the Arts is located in the heart of the Village Plaza and offers unique family shows, comedies, Broadway musicals, and more.

The Bob L. Burger Recreation Center is a testament to a smaller community's ability to successfully build a great recreation center. The facility includes:

A Leisure Pool which is irregularly shaped and ranges in depth from 0 to 3 1/2 feet deep. Water temperature in the low 90's makes play especially enjoyable for tots and seniors. Features of this pool include a large rock waterfall, raindrops, bubble mattress, vortex, small waterslide and three rocking squirt toys.

The rectangular Lap Pool is 25 yards long, 6 lanes wide to accommodate competitive swimming and lap swimming.

The Swim Channel/Splashdown Pool is a channel seven feet wide and 150 foot long that winds around and connects with itself to create a constant flowing "Lazy River". The island created by the channel contains a splash down pool for a 20 foot high, 150 foot long water slide. Special features include inner tube rides, fountain spray and a static swim area where a nozzle in the wall can be adjusted by a swimmer to allow them to stay in one place and swim against the current. Whirlpool, Steam and Dry Sauna: are provided between the aquatics area and locker rooms. These features are co-ed.

Raquetball courts, exercise rooms, circuit equipment and free weights are also available. As well as an indoor track that is 1/16 of a mile and overlooks the pool, fitness, and gym areas of the center.

The recreation center is housed on 20 acres of parkland. The multi-use land features a 4-field youth sports complex, an inline hockey rink and the city's outdoor classroom. The recreation center, the sports complex and the outdoor classroom provide the community a wonderful focal point for great family recreation.

Boulder Indoor Soccer is Boulder's first indoor soccer facility. In addition to soccer leagues, BIS offers camps, clinics, birthday party packages, and more.

Breckenridge is a 146-year-old quaint Victorian town in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. As one of the nation's premier year-round resorts, Breckenridge has a tremendous selection of activities.

In the summer, opportunities include mountain biking, hiking, rafting, or shopping historic Main Street. In the winter, enjoy skiing at the world class Breckenridge Ski Resort. The Riverwalk Center performning arts facility seats over 2000 in permanent and lawn seating.

Now in its 53rd year, CA Summer Day Camp provides fun-filled activities including instruction and participation in tennis, arts and crafts, organized games, archery, swimming, performance arts, academics, and special activities. Students may combine these activities with educational and other athletic pursuits for a more personalized camp experience.

The Colorado Mammoth professional lacrosse team is a member of the National Lacrosse League. The team called the Pepsi Center home since the 2003 season. Tickets are available in advance through Ticketmaster or the Pepsi Center box office.

Copper has something for all ages and abilities. One of its best features is the naturally divided terrain that starts out with gentle, sloping runs on the west, and gets progressively steeper as you head east. That means that less experienced skiers are less likely to have experts running up on the tails of their skis and, conversely, experts won't have to contend with out-of-control beginners struggling with rudder-control.

Copper has several wide-open bowls for advanced skiers and riders and has one of the best terrain parks and pipes in Colorado. It's a top vacation destination for Colorado skiing and snowboarding, is easily accessible - located just 75 miles west of Denver in the heart of Summit County, Colorado.

Copper is Summit County's largest ski area with over 2,400 skiable acres and averages 280 inches of snowfall during the ski season. There are 22 total lifts ranging from a high speed six-passenger, to four high speed quads, surface lifts, and even a tubing zone lift.

Free parking is available in the Alpine Lot right off of I-70. Take exit 195 and follow signs for free parking. Get there early and jump on one of the many shuttles that depart the Alpine Lot for the various base areas. Beginners may want to head to Union Creek on the Green shuttle. If you would like to get closer, follow the signs into the village for Close-In Pay Parking which will cost you $10-$15/day.

Childcare is offered for kids up to four years of age. Located in the Mountain Plaza building in the Village at Copper. Reservations are recommended.

Kids' lessons range from Jump Start, providing an opportunity for kids to get a head start on the day with their own private instructor, to one-day or longer group lessons. Book in advance (800.841.2481) and save 10%. Ski and snowboard lessons are available.

Copper also offers Snow Tubing Hill, ice skating, scenic sleigh rides, snowmobiling, shoeshoeing, and more.

The fun doesn't stop once the snow melts. In addition to lots of special events, Camp Copper is a summer day camp for kids (7-13) offering distinctly themed five-day sessions.

Coventry Farms is a local, family-owned horseback riding facility offering English horseback riding, summer horse camps, horse boarding facilities, and a new therapeutic riding program, The Right Step. All ages and abilities are welcome.

One week camps for non-competitive female gymnasts of all levels (beginner to advanced) to improve and progress.

Eldora is located 21 miles from Boulder and has a variety of terrain great for the entire family, including four terrain parks, tree skiing, and a centrally located base area. For those on the north side of Denver, it is perhaps the most convenient and accessible ski area in the region. The RTD bus runs between the Boulder main station (14th and Canyon) and Eldora several times each day. The resort has 12 lifts including two Quads and, for the little ones, a conveyor lift making it particularly easy to learn to ski.

The Trek Program and Eldorables have an excellent reputation in the area for teaching little ones how to ski. Eldorables is for kids age 4-6 and introduces them to skiing with sport-specific fun and games. Sessions run on weekday afternoons. The Trek program, for ages 4-12, offers instruction on the weekend and runs from 9:30am-2:30pm.

Eldora also boasts one of the best snowmaking systems in Colorado with 100% of the groomed terrain covered. Eldora Mountain Sports is the resort's retail store and is located in Boulder at 2775 Canyon Blvd.

Flatirons Equestrian Center offers many quality services such as full care boarding, riding lessons, horse training, schooling shows, camps, clinics, birthday parties, and an on-site tack shop.

The Denver Outlaws, professional lacrosse team, hosts the 6th annual Go Fast! Colorado Lacrosse Camp for boys and girls. Advance registration is available online.

Granby Ranch and the SolVista Basin area is comprised of two separate but inter-connected mountains. East Mountain's terrain is primarily beginner and intermediate, while West Mountain's terrain is primarily intermediate and advanced with limited beginner access. A separate learn-to-ski park features a surface lift for beginners.

The SolVista Base Lodge is a central, three-story base facility housing lift ticket sales, ski school desk, information desk, rentals, retail shop, lost and found, lockers, cafeteria, restaurant, lounge, and selected administrative offices. First-aid facilities are in the Ski Patrol building just east of the Base Lodge.

Lessons for kids start as young as three years old. Older kids can learn snowboarding as well.

Summer fun at Granby Ranch include golf, fly fishing, hiking, biking, and all those wonderful outdoor activities that make the Colorado High Country such a special place.

Keystone Resort spans seven miles along the Snake River and encompasses three mountains - Dercum Mountain, North Peak and The Outback. Keystone also features award winning dining, vibrant villages, two championship golf course, Rocky Mountains' largest Conference Center, and lodging and guest amenities.

Keystone opens early and closes late. Fifteen trails are open at night at the height of the season, including a lighted terrain park, making Keystone one of the best night-skiing mountains in Colorado.

The new, state of the art Children's Center in River Run provides childcare services in the east base area of Keystone Resort. Along with the Children's Center in the Mountain House base area, Keystone offers seasonal, professionally staffed daycare facilities and children's camp programs for children two months and older.

For over half a century, Loveland has been long known for some of the best skiing and snowboarding conditions in Colorado. At Loveland you get 1,365 diverse acres of terrain and breath-taking views from the highest chairlift in the world, high atop the Continental Divide. Up here, 400" of snow isn't just average, it's expected.

Loveland's Child Care Center (opens October 30) offers age appropriate arts, crafts, indoor and outdoor play in a kid friendly environment. Ages 12 month to 12 years are welcome. Started as a small group of neighborhood kids who wanted to ride, Nickers and Nickers offers a summer camp program for kids to learn to groom, feed, lead, tie, tack up their horse, and acquire basic horsemanship skills. Kids can get plenty of time in the saddle (Western), or bareback, depending on their ability and preference. An onsite corral is within walking/riding distance on a canal trail that leads to an equestrian center. Kids receive a folder to keep with diagrams and articles ranging from horse anatomy to hoof care and everything in between. Daily and weekly quizzes for prizes keep everyone on their toes. Class size is kept small to facilitate individual attention.

Normandy Farms provides equestrian training and services for over 90 years; in the early 1900's the stable even housed the Tivoli Brewing Company Draft horses due to its excellent care and central location. The Farm has raised champion Shetland Miniature horses and most recently some of the best horses and riders in the area.

Normandy Farms offers equestrian training program for riders of all ages. Trainers offer instruction in Dressage, Hunters/Jumpers, Grand Prix and Cross Country. Several educational children programs are also offered throughout the year as well as summer day camps.

Northern Colorado Fencers offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced programs for fencers of all ages. Summer camp programs are also available.

The Parker Fieldhouse offers 100,000 square feet of action and excitement. Sports turf, batting cages, gymnasiums, an inline rink with Sport Court flooring, a climbing wall, an elevated track, a fitness loft, and an indoor playground make the building popular with sports enthusiasts of every age and ability level.

The Parker Valley School of Horsemanship offers horseback riding lessons and training for all experience levels, horse boarding, pasture and paddocks, indoor and outdoor horseback riding arenas, trails, summer camps, day camps, and birthday parties.

Straightline travels to different skateparks around Denver throughout the summer, and offers 12 week-long sessions.

The camp program is open for all levels of ability, and the fee includes a t-shirt, lunch (from Jason's Deli), and lots of skating time.

Situated on hundreds of acres on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside, world famous mountains, and romantic sunsets, the Colorado Horse Park offers the opportunity to enjoy the tradition and romance of the horse.

The Park is an international equestrian competition center. The General Public is welcome at all events, where they can enjoy the fascinating connection between human and horse. Tours of the facility are available by appointment.

The Pony Lady LLC provides kid-friendly ponies for birthday parties, pony-riding lessons, and four-day camps with miniature horses and ponies in the Denver metro area. The ponies are brought to your home and are approved on streets and sidewalks throughout the Denver Metro area.

The Ranch at Spraddle Creek offers day camp programs with flexible schedules for horsemanship camp, pony camp, nature camp, and a critter club, geared for families with kids that are visiting Vail and want their child to have a fun activity.

A 23-acre community farm and environmental education facility located in Stapleton's Sand Creek Greenway. The Urban Farm offers a wide array of programs in horsemanship, animal husbandry, gardening, conservation, stream reclamation, and land cultivation.

Perhaps the most nationally well-known of the Front Range ski areas, Vail has 33 lifts, 193 trails, and more than 5200 skiable acres. Kids love Adventure Ridge, located atop the Lion's Head gondola, which includes an ice rink, tubing hill, kid-sized snowmobiling, and other cool attractions.

For non-skiing children, Small World PlaySchool is available for little ones two months to six years. Reservations are required.

Winter Park Resorts consists of four adjacent mountains: Winter Park, Mary Jane, (including Parsenn Bowl), Vasquez Cirque, and Vasquez Ridge, making it one of the largest ski resorts in Colorado. The four distinct sections of the mountain are interconnected by a network of trails and lifts. Winter Park Resort is the oldest continually operated resort in Colorado.

Winter Park Resort is well known for its outstanding youth ski and snowboard program and childcare facilities. Along with lessons and ski adventures, Winter Park offers plenty of kid- and family-friendly terrain. Groswold's Discovery Park, the resort's 25-acre beginner area, has twisting trails that keep youngsters so intent on what is around the next corner that they don't realize they are developing skills such as turning, proper stance and balance. Mount Maury and Sorensen Park, beginner areas at the base of the mountain, have magic carpets, similar to a moving sidewalk, to eliminate tiring uphill side-stepping.

Kids can get their kicks and grins jibbing in the terrain garden in Discovery Park. With the addition of new rails and jumps in Jack Kendrick's terrain park, kids can learn basic skills and gain confidence on the smaller features before moving on to the full-size Rail Yard terrain park on Allan Phipps.

Wee Willie's Childcare is a non-ski program for children two months through six years with indoor activities and outdoor play. Lunch is available on site. A complimentary beeper/pager is included. Reservations are required. A one-hour private ski or snowboard lesson add-on is available for children (3 years and older) who are enrolled in full-day childcare for an additional charge.

The Kids Daily Programs start at age three and continue through age 17. Packages include ski/snowboard rental, lift ticket, complimentary helmet rental, lunch, snack, and instruction. Indoor supervision is also provided for kids three to six years old, before and after their lessons. Snowboard lessons are offered for children as young as age five.

Winter Park is also home to the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD). The internationally acclaimed NSCD is the largest and most successful program of its kind in the world. The NSCD began in 1970 with 23 amputee children from Denver taking ski lessons at Winter Park. Launching its 35th season, the non-profit organization teaches more than 17,000 lessons annually in a variety of year-round sports for children and adults of all disabilities. The Ski Train departs Denver's Union Station each Saturday and Sunday at 7:15 a.m bringing skiers directly to the Winter Park slopes. The return trip leaves at 4:15 p.m. and arrives in Denver at 6:15 p.m. Additional trips are scheduled for holidays and Fridays beginning in January and continuing through early April.
