Run by the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS), this program offers individual and small group tutoring - including homework help - for academically at-risk students.

This program is primarily geared toward new immigrants in first through sixth grades who have limited or no English skills. A referral from the student's school system is required.

SCAMP is a six-week summer daytime program for special needs children and young adults. Campers typically have one or more disabilities, such as autism, mental and/or emotional impairment, speech and language delay, or a physical handicap.

There are talent shows, dances, puppet shows, and a carnival. The facilities at Independence Oaks County Park is used for boating, fishing, hiking, and swimming.

The Jazz and Spirit Dance Theatre provides dance classes in modern/jazz, ballet, tap, hip-hop, praise, ballroom, and dancercise for adults and children ages four and up.

Experienced dancers ages nine to 17 can audition for the Junior Repertiore Company, which performs throughout the metropolitan area and engages in community activities.

Founded in 1977, Jeannie Zimbalatti's School of Dance offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, hip-hop, lyrical, Hawaiian, and aerobics. The studio also offers a special needs dance program for students with disabilities. A complete curriculum of dance classes ranging from pre-school through adults of all levels is available.

Variety FAR Conservatory of Therapeutic and Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization that provides creative arts therapy and recreation services for children and adults with mental, physical, and/or emotional impairments.

FAR offers a wide range of programs in music, art, dance, theatre arts, softball, ice skating, gymnastics, gardening, cooking, adaptive swimming, bowling, and hockey. Private, semi-private, and group sessions are available. All ages, from pre-school to adult, are welcome to enroll.
