Established in 2005, A Galaxy Entertainment
is an event planning company specializing in children's entertainment.

Party themes range from puppy parties to sports parties, with activities covering everything from camel rides to create-a-bear parties, and entertainment from monkeys to world class magicians.

A Los Angeles Clown and Character offers party entertainment like silly tuxedo clowns and over 100 popular costumed characters providing games, magic, ballons, and face painting.

Other options include carnival attractions, puppet shows, trains, jumpers, go carts, race cars, DJs, reptiles, ponies, and exotic animals.

Angel Eyes Lifeguards, a division of Happy Swimmers Swim School, watches over kids (and adults!) during back yard pool parties or swimming events, keenly and kindly providing the level of safety that insures a fun party for all.

The staff is Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding and CPR and first aid qualified, as well as responsible, mature, and friendly. The group has liability insurance.

Lifeguards come professionally dressed, safety equipment in hand. Angel Eyes serves all of Southern California.

Babonazo Productions provides birthday party entertainment including puppet shows, art workshops, and a clown called Galoony.

Bennett Farms offers individualized horseback riding lessons in a safe environment for children.

With the founding of the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in 1963, Bob, along with his partner Alton Wood, established the longest running children's theater in Los Angeles. All of the marionettes, puppets, props, and costumes for the theater are produced in the on-site shop (and the shop also offers marionettes for sale to kids and adults who'd like to practice this art).

Birthday Parties offered by the Theater include a sheet cake, balloons, ice cream, juice, crown and gift for the birthday child, paper service and cleanup, show, and printed invitations. Party cost is $75 for up to 15 guests, $100 for up to 25 guests, or $150 for up to 50 guests. In each case, you also need to pay individually for show tickets (so a party of 15 guests would cost $225). Parties should be booked three weeks in advance, and run from 1:30pm-2:30pm (show from 2:30pm-3:30pm) on Saturdays or Sundays only.

Additional food can be brought, with advance notice, if it's kept simple (pizza, finger sandwiches, chips) although additional cleanup may be necessary.

Mexican puppet party favors are available at an additional $5/each.

Bubble Mania and Company offers parties and programs built around the science and fun of soap bubbles for children of all ages. Interactive programs are available for schools, daycares, private parties, companies, and libraries.

"Bubblologists" make bubbles of all shapes and sizes without the use of bubble machines. Birthday party programs involve an indoor presentation followed by an outdoor party playtime.

Captain Leslie's Science offers hands-on science birthday parties and event packages for families and kids of all ages, including preschoolers. Captain Leslie is a professional science educator and entertainer who engages groups with a dynamic, interactive approach to science exploration. Each party is unique, created to suit the individual event.

Champions: Adventure, After School, and Sports Programs offers portable climbing walls that stand an impressive 24 feet high. The walls can handle up to four climbers at a time and up to sixty climbers in an hour. They are available for rental for use at parties, special events, or just for fun!

Champions also provides after school and enrichment programs in several schools, with classes from arts and crafts to science, drama to athletics, and journalism to body-building.

Charm and Happy supplies clowns, face painters, balloon twisters, and more for party entertainment.

Also available for rent are trains, mini rides, sumo wrestlers(!), and ponies.

Professional cheerleaders are available to spice up your little cheerleader's party! Cheer Mania is owned and operated by Michelle Boehle, a former Laker Girl and UCLA cheerleader. Kids can dress up in "authentic" cheerleading uniforms, apply spirit glitter makeup, decorate megaphones, make pom poms, learn cheers and/or dances, take pictures, and perform. Services are available in Orange County and Los Angeles County.

Cheer Mania also offers Cheer Camps in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Brentwood, and Westwood. Contact the venue directly or check the website for specific dates and locations.

Chick P & G play fun tunes that make kids get up and dance, singing along to themes that parents appreciate (think "wash your hands" and "clean up your room"). The duo also offers face painting, birthday cakes, karaoke, and themed activities for everyone from pirates to princesses.

The ComedySportz team is also willing and able to host birthday parties for kid fans, complete with pizza, sodas, cake and prize bags! The party table is all set up on the patio, waiting for you when the show is done. The cost? A reasonable $19/person (including show ticket) includes goody bags, cake, soda, pizza, and more.

Cosmikids is a combination enrichment program, indoor play space, discovery center, and party space. Programs include music, yoga, and acting classes, parenting support workshops and groups, parent and child activities, and a homeschooling club.

This popular little shop sells craft kits and art supplies and offers various other options as well.

Customers can drop-in for painting, sewing, candle making, collage, scrapbooking, bubble art, paper making, and recycled art projects. A mini-lesson is included with all crafts.

Classes include Yoga for Kids, Art and Music, and Guitar. Private and semi-private lessons are also available.

Crafts Around the Corner custom designs birthday parties. Themes include Candle Making, Painting, Sewing, Paper Making, Bubble Art, Collage, Songwriting, and more. Parties can be held at the store, or they will come to you.

Create a Kids Party provides entertainment like magic, clowns, characters, fortune tellers, firedancers, arts and crafts, henna artists, and more for events large or small. The company also offers singing telegrams.

Nestled in the foothills of Pasadena, Danny's Farm houses a collection of rescue animals who are much happier on a farm - chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, tortoises, donkeys, ponies, and bunnies to name a few. The farm hosts birthday parties and other events with aplomb; parties start at $450.

Danny's takes particular pride in catering to special needs children; the Danny in the farm's name is a boy with autism and a love for animals who inspired the whole business.

Faces & B'loons by Lauri offers a wide variety of entertainers (balloon artists, face painters, and more) for birthday parties. The company also provides twisted balloon centerpieces, party favors, buckets of water balloons (what a time saver!), and many other balloon-themed items.

Faery Peeps brings fairies and flights of fancy to any party or event. Costumed fairy characters can visit a party or turn up as a Birthday-gram.

The unique performance troupe Faery Trail Theater is most known for its highly popular outdoor show A Faery Hunt, which takes place promenade style on the trails of O'Melveny Park in the San Fernando Valley and at Corriganville Park in Simi Valley.

The show is interactive, with the audience encouraged to help 'faery' hunters Frances Griffiths and Elsie Wright to locate winged sprites in the woods. As if on cue, one likeable character after another magically appears from behind trees and shrubs until a whole extended family of fairies (and the occasional troll) have gathered to play out an entertaining drama.

The show is suitable for all ages (the phrase "Nothing scary happens in the woods" is oft repeated along the way), most particularly delighting the open minds of the very young, who all turn out in their favorite dress-up clothes. Never fear, however, if you're short on fairy garb; wings, hats, and fairy dust are all available for sale at the beginning of the 'hunt'.

Advance reservations are not required, but they do provide the added advantage of getting a child's name mentioned in the show.

Faery Trail Theater takes birthday party bookings, either as part of the regular Faery Hunt outing or privately. Individual fairy characters are also available to come to parties as entertainers.

Other programs offered by the company include visits to children in hospitals and group activities like Girl Scout badges.

The show meets at parks around the city, including Corriganville Park on the first and third Sunday of every month (meeting in the parking lot) and O'Melveny Park on the second and fourth Saturday. Rain cancels, as do major holidays.

Glimmer Body Art provides paint-on glitter tattoo services for parties and events. Offering 36 colors, skin safe cosmetic gel, and over one thousand designs, the company
is popular both for its eye-catching artwork and commitment to children's safety. The glitter tattoos are waterproof and can last up to a week after the party, or can be taken off easily with alcohol.

Green Circle Music, which was at one time known as
Made by Melissa, is run by Melissa Green, an LA-based children's performer and former preschool teacher. The company offers private music circles and birthday party entertainment.

Music Circle classes combine traditional songs and original tunes played on Melissa's guitar, with a focus on building confidence, sharing, language development, and overall music appreciation. Kids participate by singing, dancing, waving scarves, and playing instruments. Infant (30 min.) and mixed-aged (45 min.) classes are available.

Birthday parties feature upbeat songs from Melissa's album Here We Go as well as old favorites the kids can sing and dance to.

Melissa also offers cooking parties, at which kids design their own aprons and then learn to cook a meal. Themes range from homemade pizzas to macaroni and cheese to decorating cupcakes.

Groovy David DJ's is a full service disc jockey company that specializes in customized dance parties. All parties are fully interactive, with follow along dances and games. The music is edited for content, with all the popular hits of today and yesterday, including rock, rap, disco, funk, and swing.

Kids' parties can feature themes like Hannah Montana, High School Musical, and Jonas Brothers.

Husband and wife team Michael and Christine Gump are the masterminds behind Gumplestiltskin, a company devoted to eccentric and one-of-a-kind performances involving stilts, costumes, and puppets - all created in their own character laboratory.

Gumplestiltskin travels anywhere to share its array of characters, with appearances at festivals, parties, special events, parades and more. The 'high-profile' crew are regulars at the World City events at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The Gumps are accommodating of just about any party theme a customer can imagine.

High Touch High Tech provides hands-on, traveling science birthday parties. The parties are designed for children ages four and older and are totally participatory, safe, and age appropriate. Each child becomes a scientist
and performs real experiments.

Designed for children ages four and older, High Touch High Tech provides hands-on science birthday parties that are totally participatory, safe, and age appropriate. The 'scientists' are professional educators who work in West LA area schools.

The company offers six different birthday party packages to choose from; all packages include a 75-minute science adventure with all supplies and materials for up to 15 children ($5 fee for each additional child), take-home experiments and goodie bags, and a special science gift for the birthday child.

Indoor skydiving at iFly Hollywood gives visitors the experience of free-fall, without the hassle of actually jumping out of a plane.

Visitors step into a vertical wind tunnel which suspends them in a roaring column of air. Because the tunnel is constructed of clear acrylic at ground level, flyers get a 360 degree view of the surrounding CityWalk, while everyone on the promenade gets an amusing view of the flyer. Waving to Grandma is much easier here than in real skydiving.

A first flight at iFly includes a training video, instruction on hand signals (eg "bend your knees more"), a flight suit, helmet, goggles, and earplugs. Sneakers are recommended, but iFly does provide them for spontaneous types who show up in flip-flops.

Instructors accompany flyers into the tunnel for a series of flights, nudging and perfecting form to achieve stability in the air. A watchful operator adjusts the airflow depending on size and ability, allowing anyone from a three year-old child to a 250-pound adult to enjoy the thrill. And speaking of thrills, those who seek bigger ones can fly to the top of the tunnel for some extreme tandem tricks with the instructor!

Not surprisingly, iFly offers DVDs of flights, and all participants are given a Certificate of Completion. Each flight session is the equivalent of an actual sky-diving jump.

Birthday parties are also a big business here; a party room is available with catering, a coordinator, and a big screen TV for reliving each other's plunges.

Reservations are strongly recommended - especially for weekends and holidays - and are available on the website.

Joey's Gym is a popular birthday party spot for young children in Beverly Hills. Owners Ron and Dana Smith provide balloons, banners, and streamers and set up tables, benches, and music. We were impressed that they serve the cake and treats themselves, so parents can concentrate on their children. All parents have to provide are the treats and paper goods.

Parties accommodate up to 24 children, and Don and Dana set up different physical activities (trampolines, bumpy courses, and aerial swings) for freeplay.

The Gym is available for parties Sat 11am-1pm, 2pm-4pm, and 4:30pm-6:30pm, Sun 10:30am-12:30pm, 1:30pm-3:30pm, and 4pm-6pm. Price is $100 deposit, with the $275 balance paid at the party, for a $375 total.

But Joey's Gym is more then just a great place for kids to have wild birthday parties, it also offers summer, winter, and holiday camp sessions; mommy & me and transition classes; plus intermediate and advanced gymnastic classes.

Classes are set up in eight week sessions, beginning at ages 4-11 months and running all the way up to ages 8 to 12 years. Classes are taught daily, including weekends.

Class tuition for a 45 minute class is $120; a 60 minute class is $140. One time membership fee is $25.

Kaikea Entertainment provides professional performers and musicians who bring a taste of aloha from the pacific islands. Guests experience the dances and melodies of Hawaii and New Zealand, the rhythmic drums of Samoa, and the energetic hip shaking of Tahiti.

Kelly's Karakters offers a selection of party entertaiment. Costumed characters lead the party, which features activities like dress-up tea parties, songs, dance, games, magic, face-painting and more. Favorite party themes include princesses, divas, and fairies.

In addition to the huge play structure (think gerbil toys on steroids) and a toddler area just right for little ones under the age of three, Kid Concepts USA boasts a dress up area with costumes, a rock climbing wall, a lighted dance floor with interactive games, a play restaurant, karaoke, arts and crafts, and frequent events.

Socks are required in the play area.

Birthday party options range from basic ($350 for up to 10 children; $15 for each additional child; maximum 15) to deluxe ($599 for up to 15 children; $20 for each additional child; maximum 40). All options include an hour in a party room and an hour in the play area. Slumber parties (starting at $675) are also a possibility! Note that outside food, including cake, is not allowed. Kid Concepts can also bring the party to you (not the play area, of course, but fun nonetheless). Party choices include themes like magic, bubbles, puppets, and race cars.

Kids Love Dance Parties brings dancing fun to birthday parties, school dances, and other special events. The company provides an MC and a DJ and can teach fun and energetic hip hop and pop dance steps to guests. A variety of interactive games and activities are also in the repertoire.

Kids On Stage offers classes, camps, and parties for kids.

Classes include Tots on Stage, Creative Dramatics, Imagination Theater, Musical Theater, and Vocal Workshop. More experienced students can join the Master Class or the Teen Troupe. KOS offers after-school and enrichment classes.

Camps are offered during winter and spring school vacations, and during the summer, for ages four to 17. A limited number of junior counselor positions are available.

Parties can be held at a location chosen by the family, or Kids On Stage can provide a theater location; costumes, props, and music are provided by the company, and some optional add-ons include art, beading, and other special services.

La Ti Da Kids offers original music and yoga programs for kids.

Popstar-style dance parties are a particular specialty, and little kids sing-along parties can be arranged, too.

Children's favorite fairytale characters pirates, princesses, and more) can come to birthday parties or events courtesy of Living Fairytales. The character sings, tells stories, dances, face paints, and generally entertains the little ones.
