Riverdale Temple's Nursery School is accredited by the New York City Department of Health - Division of Day Care, and is registered with the New York State Department of Education. Programs are available for children ages two to four. Weekly observances of Shabbat, as well as the Jewish holidays, are celebrated. The school's direct line is 718.796.0335. The Temple also offers a summer camp program for children between the ages of 2.7 and six years. The program includes arts and crafts, music, dramatics, peewee soccer, and weekly Shabbat celebrations. The camp has access to an above ground pool, small wading pools, and sprinklers. Special events include Olympic Week and a visit from the Greenburgh Nature Center. Camp runs for six weeks and begins in the first week of July. Full day groups meet from 9am-2pm. Half-day groups meet from 9am-12n. Early drop off and late pickup are available. The Temple's religious school curriculum includes Torah, history, ethics, holidays, Hebrew, life cycle events, and music and is open to students in pre-K through 12th grade. B'nai Mitzvah Academy, for sixth through eighth graders, is individualized to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of each student preparing for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Classes meet every other Monday at 6:30 pm. Dinner is served at every session. Students also have the opportunity to participate in different social action projects throughout the year, while earning scholastic points for community service.
